Meeting new people
I love meeting new people on facebook. Sometimes it creeps me out a little cause i'm not sure if they're real or not. I only talk to them when I know people who have met them. I also just like meeting people that don't go to Lake Central. They don't have anything to do with the drama there and its just better to talk to them. I hate when you meet someone new online and then you go to meet them in person and it's really awkard. I could never talk to someone from a different country. I think that's a little weird. You can never meet them in person.
Intro Journalism
I think intro journalism is actually a really fun class. I like the fact that we have computers in the room, and we work on them a lot. I also like that our class is split in half by lunch. It makes the class go by so much faster. I am also really excited about the quiver scout thing. I think it would be really fun to be on it. It seems like the people in it have so much fun. They're always really entertaining when they're in the room. It seems like it would just be a good oppurtunity to meet new people, and try different things. I hope it ends up being as good as I think it will be.
first amendment project
I think the first amendment project is actually kind of easy. The hard part is just reading all the information about the court case. It is not that interesting on the website, but you can turn it into something more interesting. My court case was about a kid that made an inapproriate speech, he knew it wasn't approriate but didn't care. He got suspended once the school found out he knew he made sexual references. I thought that his speech was unnecessary and I don't get why he even did it. He could've made a completely different speech that was approriate and not have gotten in trouble for it, but he didn't.

I actually liked Toy Story 3. I saw it on Saturday because I watched it with the kids that I babysit, and I didn’t really like it. I wasn’t really paying attention to it though. I’ve never seen any of the other Toy Story’s. I didn’t really think that it was that sad. When I babysat one of the kids cried. I was shocked. I think the movies are kind of pointless, but I guess if you like them they’re okay. I thought it was kind of funny. Some parts were funny, especially at the end like in the credits.

Halloween Break
I had quite an exciting break. On Thursday, I went to Chicago with my parents. We went shopping and went out to eat. I bought four shirts. I picked out ugg boots that I want for Christmas. Then I went home. I went to my friend's house on Friday. We went to the movies. The movie we saw was the most disgusting movie ever. I thought it was really funny, though. Then I stayed the night at her house. On Saturday, we just hung out at her house. On Sunday, my friend came over and we walked around instead of going trick-or-treating. I didn't really get a halloween costume so I didn't have anything to wear for it so I just decided not to go trick-or-treating. Then we had to take my friend home because her mom went into labor, and she had to watch her baby sister. Then the break was over and I had school on Monday :(

Narrative
One summer, Nadine Velasquez went to California. She went with her mom, dad, and her friend Jen.
When they walked out of the plane, they instantly felt the warm air. They were so excited to go to the beach and walk around. Jen and Nadine ran inside their hotel room and threw their bags down.
"I was so excited to finally get to see California," said Jen.
"We put on our bathing suits and ran out to the door," said Nadine.
The air was so warm, and the water was so cold. It was perfect. Nadine and Jen walked on the sand and saw all the people in their bathing suits and flip flops and loved it. They put down their towel and took off their shoes and layed in the sun to warm up.
Once they were warm enough, they ran into the water splashing each other. There were these two girls in the water that looked around their age.
"Oh my god, I know this wonderful ice cream place want to come with us?" asked one of the girls.
"Sure," said Jen and Nadine.
As the four girls were walking down the street, they looked at everything around and thought it all looked so cool. They arrived at the ice cream shop and they all ordered chocolate ice cream with cookie dough in it.
The two other girls were from New York but had been there already many times, so they knew about a lot of interesting places.
All of a sudden, Nadine's mom called her on her cell phone and asked them to come home. It was getting really late and it was already dark. Jen was a little scared to walk home but Nadine assured her that everything would be fine.
The two other girls went back to their hotel which was the opposite way. Jen and Nadine were walking down the street minding their own business and then these creepy guys in this huge truck drove past them and stared at them. Then they did it again.
"NADINE! Those guys just drove past us twice they're kind of creeping me out," said Jen.
"Chill out, we'll be fine," said Nadine.
They kept walking and the truck started to follow them. Nadine saw the hotel and knew they would be home safely in a couple of minutes if they kept walking. Then, Nadine saw a shortcut that they could go through. The kept walking on the same street and the guys would drive past and talk to them.
"Just ignore them Jen," said Nadine.
They kept walking and the guys were about to get out of their truck when Nadine told Jen to follow her and they started running as fast as they could. The guys tried to follow them, but they couldn't catch up.
Jen and Nadine arrived at the hotel and went up to their room and just sat there trying to proccess what had just happened. They didn't say one word to eachother. They eventually fell asleep and they never told Nadine's parents what happened that night.

Miss Zendzian? Always Present
I thought this was the best story. I think it's crazy that she went to school everyday except for once in kindergarten. The story about her grandpa funeral's was weird. Most people miss a few days of school, after there is a death in their family to try and get over it, but she just went back to school right away. I would definitely go home first before I went to school. I feel like I would have to get ready and everything since I had just spent so long in the car. I always feel like I have to miss a few days because I just need a break from school to catch up on sleep. I get sick a lot in the winter so I don't think I could ever manage to have that great of attendance. Having that great of attendance does help when you apply for a college, but I still don't think that would matter to me. I could never be present for my entire life in school, it just wouldn't work for me.
My Wonderful Weekend
Over the weekend, I went to my friend's Bre and Megan's party. I thought it was okay, but it was just really awkard for everyone. No one was in a party mood either. There were probably around 50 people there. I went to the party with my friend Madi Gomez. We had to walk home because she only lives two streets away from Bre's house. It was 11:30 at night and we just talking on the way home. Then a guy comes out of nowhere and starts walking on the other side of the street. He looks really creepy. He has his hood up and his hands in his pockets and he's wearing all black so you can't really see him. Madi and I just keep walking and try to ignore them but then as I turn around i notice he is following us. I freaked out and told Madi and she said to just keep walking and he should go away. Then we walked a little faster but so did he. We got to the end of the street and turned a corner and Madi told me to run and follow her. We had to run down an entire street to get away from. We got to the end in less than like 5 seconds, that's how fast we ran. Then he started jogging to catch up with us and he was clapping his hands chasing us. Then Madi told me to follow her through this backyard to the front of her house. I had already ran a lot that day and I could not breathe at all. We got back to Madi's house and I walked in and I was about to pass out. I had to sit down and then I got something to drink. My throat hurt so bad from not being able to breathe. It finally went away, but then i had a really bad cough. That was my wonderful weekend.

The Social Network
Over the weekend I went to go see The Social Network. I thought it was really good. It was mainly about why the people Mark Zuckerberg, who created facebook, thought were his friends sued him. He was so weird, he couldn't communicate with people that well because he was so smart. When he talked it was like 1,000 words per minute. People say that's why he created facebook because he didn't have any social skills. Right now, him and his friend are the youngest millionaire's in the world. I think facebook was such a great idea. It's a good way for people to keep in touch if they don't see eachother or live far away. I always think about how mad the myspace guy is. Everyone ditched myspace and started going on facebook.
